The Flik Mac (a "real food" version of the Big Mac)

Build: 
Two 5 ounce Pat LaFrieda burger patties, two slices of American cheese, shredded Iceberg lettuce, diced white onions, crinkle-cut dill pickle chips, Thousand Island dressing, sesame seed bun. 


Comments: 
I am writing about some fantastic burgers served in the Flik Cafeteria at my office (Flik being a corporate food service company). Even though the cafe is not open to the public, please let this review serve as an homage to LaFrieda's great organic, pasture raised, grass fed meat blends and Flik's ability to cook them perfectly.

This Flik location uses LaFrieda's standard blend burger patties which arecombination of chuck, brisket, and short-rib from American Black Angus Beef. Our grill girl Dawn is the one who cooks these nuggets of goodness to perfection on a flat griddle - any way you please. 

I cannot say enough good about LaFrieda's meats, from their ability to caramelize and crisp quickly to their fat content and their fantastic old-fashioned flavor. I only wish our cafe would try the "flat-iron" blend which is even more delicious (but the cafe is subsidized and this blend comes in at almost double the price tag). 

From the crispy edges of these burgers to their pink interiors, the burgers served at my office cafeteria never disappoint. No wonder Shake Shack chose Lafrieda to be it's meat supplier. I'd love to know what blend they use but I'm told it's their best kept secret.

Flik and company get a solid 10/10 on the BC rating scale for this outstanding version of a fast food classic.
