This is going to be short and to the point...The pizza was spot-on as usual, although my one and only ongoing complaint is that although the crust is perfectly crispy, the rest of the pie dough is limp. When you pick up a piece it droops like a big old elephant trunk.
Two thin-crust competitors, Nellie's Pizza in Waldwick and The Star Tavern in Orange, can hold their own when it comes to the crispiness of the slices.
With that said, Kinchley's always nails that orange bar pie color which tells me their cheese-to-sauce ratio is perfect.
For me, Kinchley's is like White Castle – I can only go so long before I need a fix.
As for the burger....
In a word, the burger "sucked.” I should have stuck to my own teachings, e.g. you should never order seafood when patronizing a steakhouse and vice versa. I ordered a burger at a tavern where the specialty is bar pies... what was I thinking? I asked for a temperature of medium rare and it came out mushy as if it was defrosted. Ugh.
The burger gets a 5 out of 10 on the BC rating scale. Condiment freshness, bun, burger-to-bun ratio etc. are the only things that made it a 5\10.
