Neko's cheeseburger showcases culinary simplicity at its best. In a world so full of vast technological arenas and complicated situations, it was an absolute pleasure to step into Neko's, where time-worn American tavern traditions keep this crazy world at bay.
Lunch at Neko's is the closest thing to eating at home while watching the game that you could possibly get.
I believed my no-frills burger to be pan-fried, then topped with a slice of white American cheese and placed on a grocery store sesame seed bun. A sprinkle of salt and pepper rounded off the meal; that's it – bare bones perfection.
It was tough to determine if the onion rings were homemade or not, but I gotta tell you, they were outstanding. We all know the batter is what makes the onion ring, and homemade or not, this stuff was to die for.
Hard to believe as it may seem, I was particularly hungry this day and was lucky enough to talk my friend Freddie into splitting a liverwurst and onion on rye.
Yup, liverwurst and onion chasing down a burger at Neko's while watching the game... somebody pinch me.
The beer was ice cold and I was a very happy camper.
Neko's burger gets an 8.4\10 on the BC rating scale.
