Build:
2 - 6 oz. burgers, iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion, bacon, 2 slices cheddar cheese, soft Kaiser roll.
Comments:
After many years of Disney World vacations and dozens of lunches and dinners sampling some of the worst burgers on the planet, Disney may finally be producing a decent burger, (well, at Olivia's restaurant in the Old Key West resort anyway).
After ordering my burger I was told I have no say in the temperature so I was planning on a medium to medium-well cooked burger. When it was served, rather than the usual Disney "slightly warmer than ambient well done mystery meat", I was served a piping hot, well presented burger and if I hadn't taken so long to take photos, I would have eaten it at a medium temperature instead of the well done. This was my fault folks, I can't blame the kitchen.
The autopsy photo below does not do the burger much justice. In the photo, the meat appears to be dry and very well done which was not the case and the soft Kaiser roll added to absorbing most of the burgers juices. The bacon was also very good, not limp and chewy.
I "crunchified" my burger with the chips it was served with and overall, it was very good. Again, I was a bit shocked to eat a burger in Disney World that actually tasted like beef.
Who knows, maybe they'll bring back the "Oriental Cheese Dogs" that used to be sold from a kiosk in Adventureland. They were nothing shy of awesome. A hot dog encapsulated in American cheese then wrapped in an egg roll wrapper and deep fried. I couldn't get enough of them. I remember hearing that someone bit into one and burnt themselves on the molten cheese and consequently sued Disney. This may have been true as I haven't seen the Oriental Cheese Dogs since...
