Squash Blossom Grilled Cheese (with a twist).
Provolone cheese, garlic herb ricotta, Applewood smoked bacon, squash blossoms, tomato jam on Texas toast.
I asked if chef would tuck a medium-rare burger inside it, and he did (brisket, chuck & short rib blend).
When we asked our waitress if she thought the chef would be okay with this, she lit up and said: "Chef Kris most likely will, he's very open to suggestions for new things to prepare" Needless to say, I was stoked. The burger was paradise on a plate thanks to Chef Kristopher Greene, a CIA grad and inductee of Best Chefs America. Kris stopped by our table after we finished eating, he's a great guy, we had a few laughs and talked about our favorite foods.
Apologies for my lousy photos, I rarely take bad photos and these are definitely not my best, nor are there enough of them.
I highly recommend the Mainland Kitchen and Pub to anyone seeking consistently great food.
